Sincipital Reinforcement Plate (SRP) or more commonly known as facial plates, are metallic structures present on the sinciput (forehead) of transhuman Combine units. They are made out of ferrous metals and impulse welded into the unit's head, burning through their skin tissue. The process is painful to the recepient, requiring stunning before application as to minimize movement during the installation.
SRPs allow the Overwatch to manage dissonance in units, subduing emotional responses by stimulating selected areas in the frontal lobe via specialized electromagnetic signals. The implants are reported to have limited effects on long-term memory in users, further development recommended.
